Is Bwin sports betting available in New Zealand? - Bwin Review 

Bwin is one of the best known international online betting brands in the world. This is what happens when a brand pays big money to be the shirt sponsor for Real Madrid CF during some of the prime years that Cristiano Ronaldo spent with Los Blancos. Bwin has also graced the red and black of AC Milan. So if you know big-time football, you probably know the Bwin name too, perhaps leading you to ask if Bwin sports betting is available in New Zealand. However, the answer to that question is 'no,' Bwin is no longer open to players in New Zealand. 

Even when New Zealanders were fully within their rights to play at offshore betting sites before the new law came banning offshore sportsbooks in mid-2025, Bwin moved to stop serving all but their locally regulated markets. While Bwin used to operate a site that would serve markets like New Zealand that had yet to locally regulate, the decision was made to exit this set of unregulated markets.  For the vast majority of the time that Bwin did serve New Zealand, they did not support NZD accounts, forcing costly currency exchange.  This was unnecessary, given that there were top brands that allowed for direct NZD betting accounts, so Kiwis can avoid FX fees.

This was actually a wider problem than you might have known.  For example, all the Australian sportsbooks that once served customers in New Zealand, only did so via AUD accounts.  They took advantage of their name recognition, but failed to offer a service that actually catered to Kiwi sports bettors.  Moreover, sites based within the Oz regime, by regulation, were not allowed to offer new customer incentives or in-play betting. So when you add it all together, New Zealanders had their work cut out for them in finding providers that actually offered all the things that Kiwis might want. 

Now, the only legal online sportsbooks in New Zealand are TAB NZ and Betcha.
